HIGHLANDERS are said to be pursuing the signature of Bulawayo City’s goal-machine, Mbongeni Minezhi.

The 17-goal hotshot in the Southern Region Division One league has caught the eye of Bosso gaffer,Kelvin Kaindu, and the club are willing to land the hotshot.

According to sources, Bosso are eager to get the player in their books.

“Bosso are definitely after Minezhi,” said a source close to the club.

“They’ve been tracking his progress for a while now and they’re impressed with what they’ve seen. Kelvin Kaindu has made it clear that he wants to strengthen his squad and Minezhi is top of his shopping list.”

Bulawayo City communications officer, Thandiwe Moyo said they are yet to get any official communication from Highlanders.

“We have not received any formal communication from Highlanders. We are however open to negotiating with any team that would want his services or any other player in our books,” said Moyo.

Bosso’s invasion of the transfer market comes as the club faces a possible mass exodus of top players.

Lynoth Chikuhwa, Godfrey Makaruse, Marvellous Chigumira, Peter Muduhwa and McKinnon Mushore are all being linked with moves to newly-promoted Scottland.

In an interview with Zimpapers Sports Hub, Mhlophe revealed that the club’s executive and board are just as desperate as the fans to see Bosso return to the top.

“We’re as worried as the fans,” he said. “We’re not resting on our laurels. It’s been a bad 18 years for us and we want to leave that chapter behind us.”

Mhlophe promised that the club will do everything in their power to bring back the glory days.

“I promise we will keep trying to do our best so that the club quickly returns to being among the championship winners,” he said.

With the transfer window set to open soon, Bosso fans will be eagerly waiting to see who their club will sign.
