THE organisers of the end-of-year Selekta Base Blowout festival, set for Boxing Day at Borrowdale Racecourse, say it will also be for a charitable cause.
The Selekta Base Foundation will be trying to also raise awareness in combating drug and substance abuse, child marriages, domestic violence and crime.
The Selekta Base Blowout festival is a celebration of car culture, music lifestyle with different Djs and artists taking part.
This time around, the event organisers and sponsors are asking everyone to bring anything to donate to charity and the proceedings will be managed by the Selekta Base Foundation.
This event will include burnouts, exhibitions, bikers, static car displays, live music, food and drinks.
Kids, aged 12 years and below, will enter for free and their entertainment package will include acrobatics and a fireworks display.
Zambian car drifting superstar, Jericho Moono, and Team Rio from South Africa, will be showcasing their array of daredevil car skills.
Saintfloew, Probeatz and the Chillspot Family are expected to perform live at the event.
There will also be a rotation of Djs such as Rax, Rawse, Springer and Jamal.
The event organisers said:
“Limited advance early bird tickets are available for US$6 only until Friday at Bellevue Butcheries in Eastgate and Belgravia Branch only, Clouds to You Avondale, Sam Levy Village and Highland Park branches only.
“The regular admission fee for adults is US$10 and a cooler box is allowed.
“This special edition of the festival is also dedicated to charity with proceedings being managed by the Selekta Base Foundation.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to MP Scott Sakupwanya for his unwavering support in helping grow motorsport in Zimbabwe.
“I would also like to thank Borrowdale Racecourse for hosting the festival.
“The Selekta Base Blowout festival has been a staple diet of Zimbabwean car culture for 10 years, with unique themes showcased throughout the year.”
