THE late ZIFA Harare Province Division Two League vice-chairman, Godfrey Chifamba, has been described as someone who loved football with a unique passion.

Chifamba died at CitiMed in Chitungwiza on Saturday morning.

He was laid to rest at Zororo Memorial Park on Monday afternoon.

The former ZRP Morris administrator served the Harare Province Division Two for over two decades.

He started off as a board member and latter became the vice-chairman.

ZIFA Harare Province Division Two League chairman, Robert Tembo, said they have lost a loyal servant of the game.

“We are so devastated after we lost one of our own in vice-chairman Chifamba who fought a good fight in the development of the game.

“He was suffering from cancer for a long time and he succumbed to it early on Saturday morning.

“I had known Chifamba for over two decades after he joined the league representing ZRP and as a board member.

“We worked together well until the time he was promoted to be the vice-chairman, a position he held until the time of his death.

“We have been together for a long time and he was someone who would tackle issues diplomatically.

“We feel empty as a Province and we are with his family during these times of mourning,” said Tembo.
