Wanqoba Reloaded: A night of praise, worship

Faith Ndlovu
AFTER being postponed in June due to multi-award-winning sensation Janet Manyowa’s illness, the Wanqoba Reloaded concert will finally take place today, (13 December 2024) at the Harvest House International Conference Centre in Bulawayo.

The night promises to be filled with an experience of praise and worship, as local gospel followers have been longing for the annually held event.

The gig is characterised by an exciting line-up, featuring South African artistes Khaya Mthethwa (the first Black South African Idols winner and former Joyous Celebration member) and Lebo Sekgobela (famous for her work with Lion of Judah).

New Spirit of Praise member Everton Mlalazi, also the director of The Vine, is among the performers, alongside award-winning musician Michael Mahendere, Lorraine Maplanka Stot, and the youthful ensemble Joyful Praise.

Mlalazi expressed his excitement about being part of the highly anticipated concert.
“The Wanqoba concert tonight is going to be awesome. With the calibre and kind of artists on the line-up, no one can afford to miss this one. I encourage people to show up and let’s make it a day to remember,” said Mlalazi.

In the lead-up to the festival, the Wanqoba team ran a social media giveaway, offering four lucky winners a shirt and a ticket each.
