The King’s Kraal, also famously known as Cotton Lounge, will be the place to be on Unity Day (22 December) as the glamorous spot will be hosting South Africa’s duo of Morda Bongz and songbird Simmy.
Complementing the nature and feel of Cotton Lounge, the show is strictly a VIP experience as the lineup of events on the day promises a blend of elegance and grand entertainment.
As a counter to accommodate a crowd that usually enjoys afternoon events, the gig will start at 2pm, allowing Soulful artiste Simmy to serenade and mesmerise those in attendance.
The party will continue into the night as Morda Bongz gets on deck.
Mduduzi Mdlongwa from 3D Events, who are the organisers of the event, said that all is set for the show to take place. He said there are no ordinary tickets for the gig, instead, the tickets will start from the VIP going up to the VVIP tags.
He said the VIP experience concept is in line with the kind of artistes they are bringing as well as the clientele that reckons with Cotton Lounge.
“As 3D Events we have always done shows on 21 or 22 December as a kick-start to the festive season where we literally go all out and have a massive experience of an event. This year we are doing something similar and we promise to deliver like always.
“We decided to bring Morda Bongs because he is a lifestyle person and a good entertainer. His lifestyle aspect and taste has lasted for many years hence proving he is the right kind of an artiste to bring at Cotton as the club’s clientele enjoys soft lifestyle and good music.
“We also picked up Simmy for the benefit of the ladies in the afternoon as a sundowner as they can sing along to her songs which are composed based on issues and topics that women can resonate with.
“We have a massive line-up of supporting acts. DJ Cue from Botswana. DJ Dash based in Mzansi, as well as DJ Blaze from Harare will be in the building, helping attendees as they create a lasting moment to cherish forever.
“We also have local DJs in the names of DJ Liz, Wellyonz, Eugy, Crazy D, as well as Djembe Monks, who will take to the stage.
“There’s no general access — everyone will be either VIP or VVIP. We want people to dress to impress and enjoy an experience worthy of live cameras,” said Mdlongwa.
