JORDAN Zemura is a dynamite that doesn’t come in a small package.
He has a decent frame, enough to grind it out against the best across elite European leagues.
The Warriors’ Udinese star carries both aggression and industry, and he has been a huge phenomenon at the Serie A club this season.
The 24-year-old defender has exhibited some untiring spirit playing full-back for Kosta Runjaic’s 3-5-2 structure.
While he carries the heart of a lion in the field of play, which has even convinced giants AC Milan to keep tabs on his availability in the next transfer window, Zemura has quite a huge kind heart outside the game. Through his Jordan Zemura Foundation, the US$6 million-valued utility always has his mind in his roots. He has donated equipment and food hampers worth thousands of United States dollars to the differently-abled persons at Murehwa District Hospital Rehabilitation Department.
Zemura hails from the Mashonaland East district, but he was born and bred in England, where he went through systematic academy development before making his professional bow with English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth.
He couldn’t fly back home to hand over the goodies himself, but he made a passionate audio for the beneficiaries.
“Merry Christmas from me and my family to you and yours. I want to start this by saying it is with great honour that I am able to donate and give back to my community during this period of time, especially with people who need it most,” said Zemura. “I am glad you are accepting my donation, and I hope it can make life a little bit easier. You are my champions and heroes. Keep pushing and keep inspiring us all.”
A member of staff at Murehwa District Hospital’s rehab department, Merinah Kamango, saluted the 16-time capped Warriors man for the gesture.
“I would like to thank God for giving Jordan Zemura the heart that always wants to help the needy,” she said.
“We would like to thank God for giving him the talent to be the footballer he is. Jordan has decided to make his rewards from playing football benefit all.
“It’s a day for the disabled, and we can’t thank Jordan Zemura enough. Here in Murehwa, everyone wishes to see him succeed in his football career because we know it’s not about him alone, but it’s about all of us collectively.”
Zemura is enjoying an outstanding season at the Stadio Friuli, where he has played 13 games, scoring once and providing two assists.
He has been especially key when attacking, and the Zimbabwean is expected to play a key role in his team’s audacious push for a European place.
They are currently ninth on the Serie A table with 20 points, 14 behind leaders Atalanta. And Zemura, who played a huge role in Zimbabwe’s successful 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification, is hoping to continue on the ascendency.
“I am currently enjoying my game, and I am loving every bit of it,” added Zemura.
“I hope we will continue pushing as a team and hopefully attain good things at the end of the season.” The star will also be hoping to bring the same form from his club into the national team when international football returns in March next year.
