FORMER Highlanders FC and Railstars FC striker Njabulo “Tshiki” Ncube who was a prolific goal scorer during his playing days allegedly scored an own goal after he indiscriminately attacked his daughter’s ex-lover with a machete.
For the offence this week on Wednesday, Tshiki appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Maxwell Ncube facing an assault charge.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge. He paid US$100 and he was remanded out of custody to 09 December.
It is alleged that on 14 October at around 10am Malvin Banda from Mzilikazi suburb and his ex-girlfriend had a fallout which spiralled into a fist fight but Malvin overpowered his ex and thoroughly beat her up.
Nursing a swollen face the woman headed to her home and reported the incident to her father.
A fuming Tshiki reached for a machete and went to Banda’s home.
“Tshiki found Banda at his home and asked him why he beat up his daughter for no apparent reason.
An argument broke out. Tshiki attacked him several times with a machete causing him to bleed severely and collapse, the court heard.
Banda was rushed to hospital for medical attention and he sustained 14 stitches.
The incident was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Tshiki.
