Scholarships department dismisses fake 2025 advertisements

THE Presidential and National Scholarships Department said on Thursday it has not released any scholarship advertisements for this year.

The announcement comes following the confusion stemming from misleading information circulating on social media platforms.

In a Press statement, the executive director of the Presidential and National Scholarships, Raymore Machingura said his department is not responsible for any scholarship information posted online, particularly those that appear to originate from official sources.

โ€œThe advertisement on social media, even if it appears to be from official sources, contains inaccurate, incomplete, and misleading information as its contents are a plagiarised document from parts of our previous advertisement done in 2024.

โ€œMembers of the public and prospective applicants of our scholarships are reminded that the Presidential and National Scholarships Department advertises its advertisements in formal Print media, on National Radio and Television stations in a prescribed manner, consistent with all attributes of Government Advertisements,โ€ he said.

Machingura reminded prospective applicants that all inquiries and applications should be directed to the executive director via official channels, either by mail or in person, on the dates specified in forthcoming official advertisements.

For more updates, stakeholders and members of the public have been advised to keep an eye on the Departmentโ€™s official communications. โ€” New Ziana.
