Possessing the gates of your day

Sunday sermon with Apostle Chisale

GREETINGS beloved nation, in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. As we delve into the Scriptures, we uncover that each day can either be cursed or blessed.

Unfortunately, many Christians wake up each morning feeling as if their day has been predetermined against them, leading to a common refrain when asked about their day: โ€œIt was bad.โ€ While some may feign well-being, deep down, they recognise the struggles they face.

However, it is essential to understand that you can lead a victorious life year-round โ€”if you grasp what Scripture says about your day.

In the book of Genesis, as God created the Heavens and the earth, we read in Genesis 1:16-19 that He established the great light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night, along with the stars.

This passage highlights Godโ€™s intention to separate light from darkness, with the sun ruling the day and the moon and stars governing the night.

These Heavenly bodies also signify seasons and indicate that God has empowered the sun to govern the day while the moon and stars are tasked with ruling the night. The enemy recognises how to manipulate the powers assigned to these celestial bodies for his malicious purposes.

This is why God instructed the children of Israel not to worship the sun, moon or stars, as the Canaanites did, drawing strength from these creations.

Scripture reveals that God gave humankind dominion to oversee His creation, including the Heavenly bodies.

John 10:10 warns us that โ€œThe thief comes to steal, kill and destroy.โ€ Many destinies, joys and blessings are lost during the midnight hourโ€”when the church sleepsโ€”because the day begins at midnight. At this time, demonic activity flourishes and it is crucial for believers to take authority over spiritual programming set against them.

Job 3:8 acknowledges the power to curse or bless a day, stating, โ€œMay those who curse days curse that day, those who are ready to rouse Leviathan.โ€We see in the book of Job that a day can be cursed, it can also be blessed. Leviathan is a sea monster, a principality. So, they ask this principality to cause mourning and affliction to the lives of believers.

This scripture illustrates how malevolent forces can seek to fill the days of Godโ€™s people with torment and sorrow. The gate of the day, which begins at midnight often becomes a trap.

In Judges 16:2-3, โ€œAnd it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him. And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.โ€

We see the Gazites lying in wait for Samson at the city gate, planning to attack him in the morning. However, at midnight Samson arose, destroyed the gates of the city and carried them away.

This serves as a powerful reminder: your enemies are often awaiting the dawn to unleash their schemes against you. Therefore, it is vital to program your day through prayer at midnight, speaking blessings and declaring what you wish to see unfold.

God challenged Job in Job 38:12-13, asking if he had commanded his day so that the wicked may be shaken off. The story of Paul and Silas further reinforces this principle. After being imprisoned for delivering a woman from a spirit of divination, they chose to pray and sing praises at midnight. Their faith triggered an earthquake, setting them free โ€”highlighting their understanding of contending with the day.

Let us pray for the church to be delivered from the spirit of slumber. We have become complacent in our businesses, marriages and ministries, allowing demonic exchanges to occur in the midnight hour.

When you rise in the morning, be wary of harvesting what you did not sow the previous day. We must heed warnings about those who seek to harm us through witchcraft.

A witchdoctor has noted that women seeking to capture anotherโ€™s husband aim to do so at midnight, using photographs to cast curses.

Consider how many ill-intentioned individuals may have invoked your name, your company or your ministry in the spiritual realm at midnight. Arise during this hour and resist every force launched against you. May God bless you all.
