NEW Scottland FC chief executive officer ,Ronald Moyo, is excited about the new challenge before him.
The appointment of Moyo is a significant milestone for Scottland FC, marking a new era of leadership and ambition for the club that had so far been administered remotely by part-timers.
Moyo arrives at Scottland as former chief executive officer for Highlanders.
His past experience with a club revered for near proper administrative standards with an annual general meeting and audited statements every year, should come in handy at the ambitious club.
Scottland has not only invested heavily in recruiting top talent, but also in strengthening their administrative structures.
The appointment of Moyo as chief executive officer could be an indication of the seriousness of the club that is eager to be at the same level with TP Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
Moyo’s vision for Scottland is centred around building a sustainable and successful club that competes at the highest level.
He has already begun working on strategies to strengthen the team, improve fan engagement and enhance the club’s reputation.
Speaking to Zimpapers Sports Hub, Moyo thanked the club president, Scott Sakupwanya and the board for their trust in him.
“I’m honoured to be joining Scottland FC at this exciting time. I’d like to thank the club president and the board for their trust in me. I’m eager to get started, work with the team and contribute to the club’s success. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but I’m ready for the challenge and committed to helping Scottland FC achieve its goals,” said Moyo
The appointment comes at an exciting time for Scottland FC, who have been on a player shopping spree in a bid to build a championship-winning team.
The club has signed several high-profile players, including Lynoth Chikuhwa, Marvellous Chigumira and Peter Muduhwa from Highlanders FC.
Other notable signings include Castle Lager Fans’ Player of the Year Khama Billiat, goalkeeper Nelson Chadya and Gareth Madhake from Ngezi, as well as Kingsley Mureremba from CAPS United.
The club has also signed Mthokozisi Msebe and goalkeepers Taimon Mvula and Talbert Shumba from league champions, Simba Bhora.
The local Premiership promises to be an exciting one, with Scottland FC aiming to win the title in their maiden season.
Simba Bhora won the title in only their second season last term, proving that anything is possible.
