BULAWAYO is poised for a unique, exhilarating musical spectacle today as the city welcomes two of South Africa’s most illustrious artistes, Morda and DJ Zinhle.
The newlyweds, celebrated for their remarkable talents, will embark on a thrilling friendly competition, on foreign ground, each hosting their own dazzling event at distinct venues across the vibrant city.
As the sun sets, music enthusiasts will face a delightful dilemma: will they succumb to the magnetic allure of Morda’s explosive live performance at King’s Kraal in Zonkizizwe, or will they be drawn to the electrifying beats of DJ Zinhle’s pulsating set at BAC grounds?
However, this musical duel is not without its controversies. The decision of this dynamic husband-and-wife duo to stage separate events in Bulawayo — a city renowned for its more subdued party scene—has ignited a firestorm of debate among fans and critics alike. Since tying the knot in 2022, the Kwaito and House music producer, DJ Zinhle, and her husband, Morda, a master of tribal house, find themselves at the heart of intense scrutiny.
The Morda show, is being promoted by the visionary Mduduzi Mdlongwa of 3D Events Management, who is pulling out all the stops to ensure an unforgettable experience for local music lovers as this Sunday’s highly-anticipated event.
Morda is set to share the stage with SA Afro-pop sensation, Simmy.
Speaking to Sunday Life, Mdlongwa said the event hopes to redefine Bulawayo’s entertainment landscape with 3D Events Management rolling out the red carpet for the city’s crème de la crème.
Mdlongwa said the show is perfect especially in the festive season as it will resonate perfectly with the people from Bulawayo.
“Morda is a tribal house deejay and Simmy is Afro-pop and these genres are just perfect for the Bulawayo audience,” said Mdlongwa.
He further promised that the show at King’s Kraal Restaurant will be an unparalleled spectacle, as Morda takes to the stage for only the second time in Bulawayo since his highly-publicised departure from Black Motion.
“Morda is more determined than ever to deliver a truly unforgettable performance, one that will not only exceed the expectations of his fans but also solidify his position as one of the most exciting and innovative artistes on the South African music scene,” he said.
With both events scheduled for a Sunday — a day typically reserved for family and relaxation — many are left pondering whether this bold strategy will bear fruit or if the couple has unwittingly stepped into a quagmire of competition that could leave them both scrambling for an audience.
As the anticipation builds, one thing is certain: Bulawayo is in for an unforgettable showdown. Will they be able to draw in the crowds and prove their doubters wrong, or will their decision to host separate events in a small city ultimately backfire?
Was this a clever move or it is a desperate cry for help?
Could this decision to host separate events be a desperate attempt to distract from their marital woes and create the illusion of a united front? Or is it simply a case of two ambitious individuals refusing to compromise on their artistic visions?
Whatever the motivation, one thing is certain — the people of Bulawayo are about to become unwitting pawns in the couple’s high-stakes game of marital one-upmanship.
As the countdown to the events begins, the burning question on everyone’s mind is whether Morda and DJ Zinhle’s bold gamble will pay off or turn into a costly and embarrassing misstep. Only time will reveal the outcome, but one thing is clear: the drama is about to unfold, and Bulawayo is on the brink of becoming the hottest ticket in town.
With both events poised to deliver unforgettable nights filled with music, dance, and excitement, the people of Bulawayo are eagerly awaiting the arrival of these two musical powerhouses. As the competition for the hearts of Bulawayo’s music lovers intensifies, audiences are guaranteed an exhilarating experience like no other.
