“THE Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” — Deuteronomy 1:30-31
This scripture reminds us that the Lord our God goes before us and fights for us.
This is a promise that we can cling to as we approach 2025.
Just as the Israelites experienced God’s miraculous intervention in Egypt, we too can take comfort in knowing that our Heavenly Father is always ahead of us, preparing the way.
When the Israelites stood at the shores of the Red Sea, surrounded by Pharaoh’s army, God instructed them to “be still and know that I am God”. (Exodus 14:14)
In that moment, they had to trust that God would fight for them.
In the same way, we can have confidence that, as we follow God’s guidance, He will provide for us and protect us, even in our darkest moments.
The Lord goes before us to clear the path, to make a way where there seems to be no way, and to equip us for the battles we face.
As we look ahead to 2025, let us continue to make declarations now, in this month of December, in preparation for the new year.
Our God is a mighty warrior, and He promises to fight for us.
As we embrace this truth and walk in faith, we can face the future with unwavering confidence, knowing that the Lord, our God, goes before us.
Let us continue to declare His promises and trust in His unfailing love and power, for He will surely give us victory.
We will continue to cling on to the prophecy in Isaiah 43:1-3 and make these our declarations.
“1 — Don’t be afraid, for I will protect you. I call you by name, you are mine.
“2 — When you pass through the waters, I am with you; when you pass through the streams, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you.
“3 — For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your deliverer.
“I have handed over Egypt as a ransom price, Ethiopia and Seba in place of you.”
His name is Emmanuel, meaning “God with us”.
He will be with us during this festive season.
We celebrate the birth of the Saviour.
Merry Christmas to you all.
The Lord will go before you, to level the crooked places.
