DURHAM CRICKET are set to give their fans an opportunity of a lifetime as they embark on a historic pre-season tour of Zimbabwe in March.

It will be a historic tour for the English County side. They are set to have a joint pre-season tour for their men’s and women’s teams.

Zimbabwe has since become a favourite destination for the team, who have used the country for their pre-season preparations since 2020.

The cricketers have enjoyed the Zimbabwean hospitality over the years and now want their fans to sample the same.

They have since provided a package for supporters to be part of their tour this year.

“The club are thrilled to announce we will offer an opportunity for members and spectators to attend this year’s pre-season tour, with the club offering a package to watch and experience Zimbabwe, including Durham matches and tour experiences.

“Members and supporters wishing to join Durham in Zimbabwe can take advantage of spectator packages organised by the club,” they said in a statement.

Going for their fifth pre-season visit to Zimbabwe, Durham believe the tours are pivotal in building a strong relationship with Zimbabwe Cricket.

“Durham Cricket are thrilled to announce our men’s and women’s professional squads will travel to Zimbabwe in March as part of a joint pre-season tour.

“The club will embark on the first joint men’s and women’s tour in Durham’s history, as both sides will head to Zimbabwe in the spring, marking a historic occasion for Durham Cricket,” it added.

The Europeans are expected in the country on March 11.

They will play Zimbabwe on March 12,13 and 14 at Harare Sports Club.

On March 16, they will then feature in the domestic final.

After the final, Durham face Zimbabwe A on March 18,19 and 20 before returning to England the following day.

Durham’s visit also underscores Zimbabwe’s reputation as a safe and hospitable tourism destination.
