Rudman, whose real name is Shakemore Matenga, the gifted chanter from Chipinge now based in Chimoio, Mozambique, has broken his silence with a new project, Chirandu Chekanyi.

This heartfelt album is filled with tracks that promote love, respect, and honour among couples.

The project features a mix of new and old tracks, including some of Rudman’s hits from over five years ago.

The album’s tracklist includes Ndaruwana Rudo, Batira Apa, Ndiwe Wega, Makona, Une Pamuromo, Munana, and Nhamo.

Rudman, who has gained a significant following in Mozambique, where he regularly performs live in Chimoio and Manica, is now setting his sights on the Zimbabwean music market.

As a versatile artiste, known for his lyrical genius, he draws inspiration from the complexities of relationships, crafting songs that reflect how couples interact and aspire to interact in their daily lives.

“I am thrilled to be back in Zimbabwe after a long absence, and I am excited that my visit coincides with the release of my comeback album. I have taken a deliberate step away from digital production and opted for a full-band sound, which I believe meets my fans’ expectations.

“I am confident they will love it. Starting this New Year, I will be performing live shows in Zimbabwe, where I feel a strong need to reconnect with my roots and share my music with the people who matter most. As a Zimbabwean-born artiste, I am eager to push my music further in my home country, especially since I have gained more popularity in Mozambique” said Rudman, who is aged 45.

Rudman, has a notable discography, including Ndipe Rudo, Handei and Raah. Born and raised in Chimanimani, Rudman later relocated to Mozambique, where he pursued music full-time.
