Foul play on late mother’s grave: Faimily raises alarm

Chidochashe Kossam

In a disturbing turn of events, a Tshabalala family is demanding answers after discovering a massive hole on their late mother’s grave.

The family, who has faithfully visited the cemetery every year since the burial of their mother, Osca Msipa in October 2016, was left in a state of shock and pain after this incident.

“We have never missed a year of cleaning our mother’s grave,” revealed one of the children.

“Last year, we visited in July, and this year, we decided to go in January .”

However, upon arriving at the grave site last week, they were not happy with the state they found their mother’s grave in.

The state of their mother’s grave was nothing short of appalling.

The grave marker was missing, and a suspiciously large hole had been “dug” on the grave .

Distraught, the family decided to consult with other relatives before sounding the alarm.

They returned home ,consulted other family members then they returned with more family members on Saturday, hoping to find answers and support each other in this troubling situation.

Upon their arrival at the gravesite, the condition of the grave was the same ,the hole was still there and the grave marker still missing .

The Bulawayo City Council staff, responsible for the cemetery, could not offer any help as it was a weekend and they were asked to come back on Monday.

Desperate for answers, the family returned on Monday and were met with an even more shocking sight.

The grave had been hastily covered up with nearby soil and dry grass evidently from close by as well.

City council members responsible for the cemetery claimed ignorance about the incident, leaving the Tshabalala family with more questions than answers.

“We are reliving the pain of losing our mother all over again. The situation is heart-wrenching, especially when we are left in the dark,” expressed one of the sisters during an emotional interview.

After a heated debate, the family made a difficult decision that they will request the exhumation of their mother’s body.

The uncertainty surrounding the grave has left them with no choice but to seek the truth.

A letter has been sent to the city council, urgently asking for permission to proceed with the exhumation.

As the Tshabalala family waits anxiously for a response, the disturbing discovery continues to haunt them.

Will their mother’s body still be in the grave, or has something sinister occurred? The search for answers intensifies, and the family’s quest for justice and closure remains unresolved.
