WILL local hip-hop star Shone accompany British supergroup Coldplay on their remainder of their Music of the Spheres World Tour, which has grossed US$1,14 billion, all the way to their final date at Wembley in London on September 8?
Shone has been part of the supporting acts since the tour spilled into Australia and New Zealand last year and then rolled into the United Arab Emirates.
By the end of the Indian tour, Shone will have played at all the five shows in Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
But, will he be part of the Coldplay tour of the United States and Canada, Hong Hong and South Korea and finally the home run in London?
Coldplay have been changing their supporting acts at regular intervals since the Music of the Spheres World Tour started at San Joseโs Estadio Nacional in Costa Rica on March 18, 2022.
American singer H.E.R. opened the show in San Jose and was used more than any other artist in that early part of the tour.
If Shone is taken on board for the tours of the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, South Korea and the final chapter in England, he would have played in 13 stadiums this year, covering 48 shows, with Coldplay.
The tour, after the Indian performance, will this year see shows being held in Miami, Seoul, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, El Paso, Toronto, Boston, Nashville, Miami, Hull, Stafford, Hull and London. Coldplay are promoting their ninth and tenth studio albums, โMusic of the Spheresโ and โMoon Music.โ
This is the first tour by Coldplay since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Coldplay are planting a tree for every ticket sold and the environment is a huge part of the tour that emissions have been cut by 59% over the first two years on the road.
This means that more than 10.3 million trees have been planted because that is the number of tickets which have been sold.
The tour, which is spread over 175 dates, has grossed $1.14 billion in revenue, making it the second biggest grossing tour ever in the world, only dwarfed by Taylor Swiftโs Era Tour, which grossed US$2,77 billion.
The final part of the tour will see Coldplay having 10 dates in London.
