THE Namibian hunk, whose photos with businesswoman Zodwa Mkandla have triggered a lot of speculation, including the possibility of a romantic affair, is a playboy who even had sex in Big Brother’s House on the reality television programme.
The 33-year-old reality TV star has dated a string of beautiful women, including Tanzanian model Wema Sepetu, who was once the girlfriend of the country’s music star Diamond Platnmz.
Speculation has been rife on social media that Zodwa, the socialite who is also known simply as Zozo, and Luis could be in a relationship.
However, this has not been confirmed.
The two are part of the reality TV series ‘Young, Famous and African Season 3.’
The unscripted Netflix series, which delves into the world of friends and foes, was aired at the weekend.
But, who is Luis Munana?
Well, he is box-office in his native Namibia where he has emerged as one of the country’s television stars.
Among the beautiful women he has dated is Tanzanian model Wema Seputu.
After they split, Wema appeared to be missing Luis so much she posted a picture on Instagram showing her Namibian loverboy kissing her forehead.
The caption on the picture read:
“If missing someone is a crime then I want to be WANTED… A Blessed Tuesday to y’all… One of my favourite pics… I do not allow any opinions… Thank you very much.”
The two hooked up in 2015 after Wema broke up with Diamond Platnumz.
They dated for a while before they broke up and Wema moved on with Idris Sultan in 2016.
Both Idris and Louis were part of Big Brother Africa 9 – Hotshots.
Wema and Idris broke up in 2016 shortly after she suffered a miscarriage with Idris’ twins.
She said she eventually broke up with Luis because she could not handle their long distance relationship.
Reports have also indicated that Luis also dated his fellow Big Brother Africa contestant Mira, whose real name is Zulmira Miguel Andre Ngobo.
They met during season nine of the show.
His appearance in Big Brother had its fair share of controversy.
Luis revealed he had sex with a fellow contestant in the Big Brother house.
This caused friction with his family and he was excommunicated from his church.
“I come from an extremely religious background,” he said.
“Upon coming out (of the Big Brother house), I got excommunicated from the congregation.”
Two years ago, Luis said the strain on his family has been huge.
“We don’t communicate unless someone is ill or dying,” he told News24.
“But I do know they love me and I love them.”
Luis said his family’s religious organisation lives by strictand specific rules.
“If we do things like going on national TV and having sex, it’s a taboo,” he said.
“I was given a chance to say that I could leave that life behind and, by that, anything considered worldly.
“But, aside from that incident on Big Brother Africa, I did other things that are considered worldly.
“By virtue of me being who I am, the congregation basically sees it as a taboo.
“So I had the choice to leave what I was doing and re-join the organisation, which meant I could not continue doing what I feel is my calling and my livelihood, but I chose not to put those things behind me.
“I chose to continue to pursue them.”
He said because of the ex-communication, anyone who is baptised into or has taken an oath or vow to the organisation, including his family and friends, were not allowed to have contact with him.
“I’m not allowed to socialise with anybody who is part of the organisation.I’m not allowed to step into the homes or be in their presence.
“That also means that I cannot go to my childhood home, and I cannot go to my siblings’ homes because they are still active members of the organisation.
“If they fraternise with me, then they are sinning against God, and that would not put them in a good standing with the organisation and so forth.”
He added:
“They (his family) are just part of an organisation with rules, mandates and bylaws, which I was part of, but I left.
“They must abide by that, otherwise, they also risk being excommunicated, and I don’t want that for them.”
Luis’ business ventures in Namibia include his MCC (sparkling wine), Razul, founding the MTC Windhoek Fashion Week, and a modelling career.
The much-anticipated third season of Young, Famous, and African premiered on Netflix last Friday, bringing a fresh dose of opulence, drama, and a deeper glimpse into the lives of Africa’s entertainment elite.
While the show continues to celebrate African succes sstories, its latest instalment has received mixed reactions, particularly regarding Luis.
This season marked a turning point for Luis, who shed the passive persona observed in the first two seasons. Fans applauded him for standing up for himself, a welcome evolution that injected fresh energy into his storyline.
For Namibian fans, Luis’presence on the show is a source of pride, but there’s also a prevailing sense of missed opportunity.
Despite its flaws,the show remains a guilty pleasure. – H-Metro Editor/The Namibian/news24
