LONDON. – Andre Onana had another howler as Manchester United lost 1-3 to Brighton in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford yesterday. Brighton went on to dominate in the second half with goals from Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter.
Rutter’s goal came after a huge gift from Andre Onana in the United goal.
Yankuba Minteh opened the scoring for the Seagulls before Bruno Fernandes equalised from the penalty spot.
The game was sealed in the 76th minute.
Brighton had been threatening to expose the gaps on the United flanks, and Solly March did just that with a beautiful pass around the corner to Yasin Ayari.
Down the right, Ayari’s low cross into the area should have been meat and drink for Onana but the United goalkeeper inexplicably spilled the ball in his attempt to gather.
It left the opportunity at the feet of grateful substitute Rutter, who made no mistake in firing home for 3-1.
Brighton went into dreamland with their third successive win at Old Trafford.
Everton piled the misery on Tottenham with a 3-2 win, having led 3-0 at half-time, to give returning manager David Moyes his first win.
A hearty comeback by Southampton was not enough for them to secure a point as they lost 2-3 at Nottingham Forest, who led 3-0 at half-time. – The Sun
