POPTAIN CONQUERS HIS MENTAL HEALTH DEMONS

Laura Maposa

ZIM dancehall chanter Poptain says he is now in a better mental health state and feels this will be a better year for him after he endured a nightmare last year.

Poptain revealed last year that he was battling mental health challenges.

However, it appears he has now conquered the demons which were haunting him.

“I am going to be more professional than last year.

“My ultimate goal as a musician is to expand my reach significantly and grow my audience by engaging actively with the community through a series of events and concerts.

“I firmly believe that music has the power to unite people and drive positive change.

“To this end, I am committed to leveraging my platforms to address critical issues such as mental health, drug and substance abuse.

“Through organising free music therapy sessions, I aim to create an inclusive environment where individuals can find solace, support, and connection.”

He added:

“These community engagement initiatives will raise awareness, provide a safe space for healing and foster connection among those facing these challenges.

“Last year, I released some great music and I’m thankful the drama that was happening didn’t affect my career and my business.

“I was working on my brand.

“I am also glad that my shop is doing well and it’s now a one-stop shop, everything is there.

“You can get your clothes, phones, laptops, shoes, and other things from the store.”

The chanter said he will collaborate with some high-profile artists this year.

“This year, I will be intensifying my marketing and promotion efforts by maintaining a strong online presence through social media, website updates, newspapers and radio stations.

“I will also be collaborating with top musicians.

“And, future collaborations, it’s either a big artist or nothing because I think the only artist l haven’t worked with is Jah Prayzah.

“I have listened to my fans’ pleas and I am committed to delivering more live performances.

“By dedicating myself to these goals, I am confident that 2025 will be a transformative year for my musical career.”
