DYNAMOS are back in the CAF Confederation Cup next season after beating Ngezi Platinum in the final of the Chibuku Super Cup at Rufaro on Saturday.
But, are the Glamour Boys equipped to improve on their recent early elimination from the tournament?
The Dynamos chiefs will say they learnt their lessons this year when they fell to a shock elimination at the hands of Botswana side Orapa United.
DeMbare had one foot in the group stages after winning the first leg 1-0 before losing the second leg by the same scoreline and then crashing out in a penalty shootout lottery.
Orapa United’s first game in the group stages was a 0-6 thrashing at the hands of USM Alger, a club Dynamos have battled against in the past, in the CAF inter-club tournaments.
The scoreline was 0-4 in the first half and the game was effectively over.
The Algerians added two goals in the second half to ensure they started their group campaign in the best way possible in Algiers.
It was the biggest defeat suffered by any of the clubs taking part in the group stages of the Confederation Cup and highlighted that the Botswana outfit are probably out of depth at this level.
It should also send a message to the Dynamos officials that their team, as currently constituted, does not have the manpower to compete well in such tournaments.
