JOHANNESBURG. – The year 2024 belonged to Tyla and her stardom was beautiful to witness.
The 23-year-old singer not only swept awards (including a Grammy) but also dominated the charts. She made history with a record-breaking 52 weeks at number one on the Billboard Afrobeats chart.
Recently, it has been announced that her debut self-titled album “Tyla”, is the most streamed album by a black female artist on Spotify in 2024, surpassing Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter”.
As expected, some Americans, who have shown their dislike towards Tyla, tried to throw shade by saying Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ remains the most streamed album by a black female artist because Tyla identifies as coloured.
However, they forgot that although she is coloured, Tyla still has black roots, which she has never denied.
In other news, Tyla will perform at Sun Arena, Time Square in Menlyn Maine, this Saturday.
