THE Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke has ended in Zvishavane after three pulsating days that tested cyclists’ endurance and mental strength.
On Thursday Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs Minister Marion Chombo saw the riders off at the start of an exciting near incident free event.
The route saw cyclists go through a demanding 328km of varying landscape features.
On reaching Zvishavane, an ecstatic Munyaradzi Hwengwere, who founded the race and fixtures it for every first week of November to coincide with the death of his mother on November 2, 2014, described the event as a success
The race celebrates the opportunities presented by the Great Dyke, promotes wellness, a key feature in improved productivity and benefits the Gifted Children Foundation based in Zvishavane.
“I would like to thank the cyclists and sponsors for their ever enduring spirit. The tour has been a huge success,” said Hwengwere.
