Exodus and Company director projects Alex Mashangu was giving an update of their works at the roundabout along Harare-Bindura Highway and Boulervard Road.
He said infrastructural development was the new norm.
“This is an exciting period in the nation in terms of infrastructure development, which covers roads, residential, commercial,” he said.
“We are so excited about what we have done here in terms of contributing to the nation, the infrastructure around Harare.”
Eng Mashangu said on the Harare-Beitbridge Highway out of 493 kilometres that has been opened to traffic, they did 80km.
He also said they managed to participate in construction of access roads to the New Parliament and section of Harare-Bindura Highway.
“This road started in February last year, whereby we were asked by our Government to reconstruct the existing roads, starting from Nemakonde way to the roundabout here, and also from this roundabout to the Blue Ridge Road, which is about 10 kilometres away from here,” he said.
“So what we have done on this road is to widen the existing road. So it was opened to traffic at the end of July last year.”
Eng Mashangu said the scope of work comprised the reconstruction of the existing road, modernising, and construction of two new lanes.
It also included the construction of a new bridge along Harare-Bindura Highway, installation of traffic lights, and also the roundabout among other things.
The media tour has now moved to Madokero Shoping Mall and Madokero Creek which was commissioned by President Mnangagwa last year. Exodus and Company chief executive Mr Progress Mambo said the Madokero Mall was financed by the Public Service Pension Fund.
“They also provided funding for the other project where we were at Madokero Creek. We are also working with them on apartments I mentioned earlier, the 108 units just behind this shopping mall,” he said..
“This mall was officially opened by the President in December 2022 as first phase, then the second phase was opened in June 2024.”
Mr Mambo said the shopping mall covers a space of 10 000 square meters.

“I am glad that l now have decent accommodation courtesy of the Government. Although l still experience fear that l might lose a child again whenever there are heavy rains , but the feeling eventually goes away because I am comforted knowing that l am at a safer place,” she said.
Another beneficiary, Judith Muriyenda said had it not been the benevolence of the President life would have remained a thorn in the flesh for her.
“It took President Mnangagwa’s love to rescue us. At first we thought the Government was just speaking without action.
“I nearly lost hope but thanks to our President for providing us with shelter,” he said.
