ANOT 2025 propels Manyowa’s brand

“Phenomenon” is undoubtedly Janet Manyowa’s middle name.

Everything she touches turns to gold, and her career continues to blaze a trail of success with each passing season.

As the queen of praise and worship, the diva broke yet another record at the ANOT 2025 (A Night of Thanksgiving) Concert, held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on New Year’s Day.

She drew what can easily be described as the largest crowd ever attracted by local gospel artists in recent years.

In addition to this remarkable turnout, Janet’s annual gospel event provided a refreshing worship experience that will remain etched in the minds of many.

Curated by her husband and manager, Munyaradzi Manyowa, the event deserves commendation for setting new trends in the entertainment industry.

The lighting, sound, and overall flow of the show were nothing short of epic, befitting the occasion.

The world-class stage set up by Evolution Events was ideal for an orchestra from Zambia, which backed Janet throughout the performance.

She made her job easier by belting out sing-along tracks that included “Zadzisa,” “Nyasha Nengoni,” “Many Blessings,” and “Wakakosha,” among others.

It was encouraging to note that her brand continues to win the hearts of many, including kids who were invited on stage to sing along with her.

She also gifted the kids some presents as a way of inspiring them.

The well-choreographed act demonstrated that Janet is serious about her career as a musician, evolving with each season.

Before her performance, Patience Masiyambira had a day to remember at ANOT 2025, where she was embraced by fans for her resilience.

She was the first act.

The talented songbird still has a lot to offer, judging by her performance at the event.

Minister Ellard Cherayi and his wife, Sharon, warmed the stage for Janet, who has continued to break records.

Adding decency to the show was the presence of Baba Mechanic Manyeruke, while Everton Mlalazi had a good day in the office.

The ever-green Mlalazi made his act engaging through his powerful stage presence and interaction skills, which have made him a darling of many.

Exuding confidence, Mlalazi had the fans singing along as he belted the popular chorus “Hakuna Akaita saJesu,” a befitting thanksgiving song for the fans who thronged the venue in large numbers.

Not to be outdone was the Zimpraise Choir, which has been in the game for years.

This popular nursery for gospel singers has continued to churn out stars.

One of the stars from the outfit, Desire Makoni of the “Hoyo Mushandiri Washe” fame, showcased his artistic flair as he performed the track with aplomb.

Makoni, complemented by another Zimpraise singer, Nicholas Chirunga, was full of energy, sending the packed auditorium into a frenzy.

The excitement escalated later in the night when Michael Mahendere appeared on stage to support his sister in Christ, Janet Manyowa.

Minister Mahendere, like Janet, has joined the elite league of gospel stars who have taken the scene by storm.

Everything about the former Mahendere Brothers member is refreshing; he takes his stage presence seriously each time he performs, both locally and abroad.

With a rich catalogue of spiritually uplifting songs like “Ndinobuda Pakaoma,” “Makomborero,” “Makanaka Jesu,” and “Ndinovimba nemi,” which have become staples on his playlist, it was clear he was in the right space.

To ensure ANOT 2025 was a unique worship experience, Dr. Tumi and Bonnie Deuschle also graced the event.

In an interview with Janet’s husband and manager, Munyaradzi, expressed gratitude for the support received.

“We are still to ascertain the correct figure for attendance at ANOT 2025, but over 5000 people purchased tickets.

“The Janet Manyowa brand is growing, as demonstrated by the large turnout at the venue. We never anticipated this, and it has encouraged us to continue working hard,” he said.

Manyowa’s team, which invested significantly in ANOT 2025, acknowledged that it was by God’s grace that they hosted a successful event.

“It took a lot of teamwork and proper planning to come up with such a beautiful show. We are happy to note that it has become a way to start the year in prayer while praising the Lord. Team effort has brought us this far, and we would like to thank all the stakeholders, artists, and fans who came to support us,” he said.

Being an annual event, Manyowa believes in proper planning, and preparations for ANOT 2026 will commence soon, according to the team.
