THE Zimbabwe Golf Association (ZGA) has released its calendar of events for the 2025 season, following the conclusion of the 2024 season a fortnight ago.
With an array of high-profile tournaments on offer, golf enthusiasts can look forward to an exhilarating year of action both locally and globally.
Among the key local fixtures is the traditional season opener, the Dugmore tournament, which will take place at Bulawayo Golf Club on January 25 and 26. The Platinum Classic at Norton Golf Club is scheduled to close the year from November 29 and 30.
The international events on the agenda include the first international tournament of the year, the Golf RSA International Amateur (January 28 to 31), as well as the African Amateur Championship (February 5 to 8, Leopard Creek, South Africa), and the Region Five tournament in Botswana. The dates for the Eisenhower finals are yet to be confirmed.
Another major highlight on the calendar is the Lowveld Pro-Am, scheduled for June 19 to 22. The tournament made a return to the local scene after a 10-year break and has emerged as the country’s second-biggest golf tournament after the Zimbabwe Open.
Sponsored to the tune of US$60 000 by Tongaat Hullett, the tournament was held at Hippo Valley and Triangle Golf Clubs and will now be played at Triangle and Chiredzi Golf Clubs.
Other high-profile tournaments to look out for include the Zimbabwe Open, scheduled for May 4 to 11, and the Zimbabwe Amateur, planned for July.
Meanwhile, the third edition of the Mzilikazi Classic will coincide with the Mzilikazi Day commemorations.
The tournament is set to grow and will now be held at Harry Allen Golf Club on September 6-7, after it took place at Bulawayo Country Club last month.
