Zahara remembered a year after passing

Zahara, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana is being remembered a year after passing.

The South African musician passed away on the 11th of December 2023 after spending weeks in the hospital due to liver complications.

Zolani Mahola paid tribute to the late singer by performing the hit song, Loliwe.

The tribute was posted on Zahara’s official Instagram account.

The caption reads: “A year has gone by since our dear Zahara left us, yet her essence remains in the hearts of all who were inspired by her light. A true icon whose music crossed boundaries, she didn’t merely perform—she spoke to the soul. Her voice was a powerful tool for healing, love and resilience, weaving narratives of struggle, hope and joy with every note.”

Her legacy resides not only in her songs but also in the lives she touched, the dreams she ignited and the barriers she dismantled. Zahara offered us more than just melodies—she shared a part of herself, leaving a lasting imprint on the world.

“As we remember Zahara, we celebrate her creativity, her steadfast spirit and the love she so freely shared.

May her music continue to resonate in our hearts, eternally reminding us of her brilliance and beauty.” — Fakaza News
