Walter Musona is Soccer Star for 2024

SIMBA Bhora captain, Walter Musona, was crowned the 2024 Castle Lager Soccer Star of the Year at a grand ceremony in Harare last night. 

Musona had an excellent season with newly-crowned Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Simba Bhora, scoring 10 goals, and continued his fine form with the senior national team, the Warriors. Musona previously won the Soccer Star of the Year award in 2022 followed by Qadr Amini, the Ngezi Platinum Stars captain last year.

Highlanders’ striker Lynoth Chikuhwa was named the first runner-up after scoring an impressive 17 goals during the season, earning him the Golden Boot Award. 

Khama Billiat

He is rumoured to be moving to newly promoted Scottland FC. The second runner-up was Khama Billiat, who recently returned to the country to play for Yadah Stars. He scored 13 goals and contributed with several assists for the Miracle Boys.

The rest of the 2024 Soccer Stars of the Year include Blessing Sasha Moyo, Isheanesu Mauchi, Tymon Machope and Webster Tanaka Tafa, all from Simba Bhora, Donovan Bernard (Chicken Inn), Emmanuel Jalai (Dynamos), Godknows Murwira and Kingsley Mureremba (CAPS United).
