Bulawayo is set to wrap up the year in grand style with the upcoming Piano Festival, scheduled for New Year’s Eve at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre Pavilion. Gates will open at 2pm and the celebrations will continue into the early hours of the new year.

One of the event organisers, Jordan Dube, manager of Harris Entertainment, shared that the festival, in celebration of the Amapiano genre, aims to unite people in welcoming the new year.

“The Bulawayo Music Festival is a new initiative for the city. As Harris Entertainment, we noticed there wasn’t an event purely focused on Amapiano, without fusing it with Zimdancehall or South African live performances. So we decided to introduce one for lovers of the genre,” said Dube.

He said that the festival seeks to promote local DJs and artistes.
“We want to create a platform for our DJs to showcase their talent while also celebrating the Amapiano genre, which has grown in popularity,” Dube explained.

The line-up features a stellar mix of local DJs, including Umlungu Omnyama, La Soul, Prince Esikhosini, DJ Cable, DJ Fraize, Skaiva, DJ Fifi, DJ Liz, Crazy Dee, Tsepiso, DJ Sweeto, Zulu Da House Maniac, Feel G, Slimza, DJ Stout, Stokswit, DJ Keezyam, Wellyonz, DJ Ash T, and DJ Kotwane Hikwa, among others.

The Piano Festival promises a vibrant space for relaxation and enjoyment, accompanied by great music, as attendees look forward to ringing in the new year.
