IT will be a carnival atmosphere when the crème de la crème of local pool descends on the City of Kings and Queens for the 2024 edition of the National Champions League tournament at Queens Sports Club over the weekend.
The national tournament is set to run on Saturday and Sunday with at least 64 clubs from all over the country expected to compete. All pool districts in Zimbabwe are set to be represented at the tournament.
It is sanctioned by the Zimbabwe Pool Association (ZIPA) and the Bulawayo Provincial Pool Association (BPPA).

The current holders of the Champions League, Nkulumane Pool Club, are raring to go alongside Queens Pool Academy who made history in the 2024 Bulawayo Province by becoming the first club in the country to complete a season unbeaten.
ZIPA board member Archie Scholtz said they are looking forward to hosting a successful event that will see the best of the best Zimbabwean pool as they battle it out for top honours.

Scholtz said it will be a family-friendly environment catering for all.
“It’s going to be a great weekend for pool in Bulawayo as the whole nation will be here and witnessing the crème de la crème battle it out. We are expecting not less than 64 clubs, the best of the best from all the pool districts in the nation.

“The playing environment will be friendly and can accommodate minors to witness the fireworks. There will be fierce competition from all the participants and we are calling on all pool enthusiasts in Bulawayo and surrounding areas to come in numbers and support this great tournament,” said Scholtz.
Registration for the tournament is pegged at US$150 per team, while entrance for spectators is US$2.
