Knowledge Musona

Knowledge Musona (born on 21 June 1990 in Norton)is one of the most gifted strikers in the history of the Premier Soccer League. He started his career at  Kaizer Chiefs and helped them account for the Chiefs Telekom Cup twice in a row in 2009 and 2010. In 2010 he became a winner of the Premier Soccer League Rookie of the Season award. After his two stints at Kaiser Chiefs, he was acquired by the Hoffenheim football club.

Then he attracted interest from football clubs in Germany, Belgium, and Netherlands. He made his Belgian Pro League debut in 2017 as a member of the Belgian football club Oostende. Since 2021 he has been playing as a left winger or forward for the football club Al-Ta’ee Ha’il in the Saudi Professional League. Knowledge also captains the Zimbabwe football team.  

Tinashe Nengomasha

Nicknamed “The General” and “Father” for his commitment, prowess on the pitch, and command of the game,  this former Zimbabwean football legend is one of the greatest PSL strikers. Born on 2 September 1982 in Harare, Tinashe played in the Zimbabwe National team, Kaizer Chiefs (2002-2012), and Bidvest Wits (2014-2016) in South Africa.

He started his brilliant football career at the Warriors, where he was intimidated by football coach Peter Ndlovu. By the way, Ndlovu was also one of the most famous professional Zimbabwean footballers before he retired and started coaching. Regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the history of Kaizer Chiefs, Tinashe played an instrumental role in helping the Chiefs win 10 major trophies. In 2004 Tinashe won the Premier Soccer League Footballer of the Year award. In  2016 he retired from football and two years later he started studying coaching at Harare High School in Zimbabwe. In March 2022 Nengomasha became the team manager of the  Ngezi Platinum. 

Khama Billiat

Born on 19 August 1990 in the Zimbabwean region of  Harare, Khama Billiat is undoubtedly one of the richest and most famous Zimbabwean footballers. He began his professional career at CAPS United and Ajax Cape Town. His brilliance attracted many professional football clubs and in  2013 he was snapped up by Mamelodi Sundowns, a football club in South Africa’s Premier League. 

He helped the Sundowns win seven major trophies. Currently, Billiat plays for the football club Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa. Former member of the Zimbabwe national team, he was its captain in a 2022 World Cup qualifier. He left it after his last match against Ethiopia in a 2022 World Cup qualifier. Billiat has managed to become one of the best players in the country and currently plays for Kaizer Chiefs. 

Marvelous Nakamba

His first name is pretty similar to “marvelous” (superb, excellent) and therefore speaks for itself. Born on 19 January 1994 in Hwange, he was signed for the Zimbabwean Bantu Tshintsha Guluva Rovers Football Club when he was just 16. In 2012 he was snapped up by the French football club As Nancy (French Ligue 1) and later he played for a while for the Netherlands football club Vitesse Arnhem. 

In 2019 he switched from another football club in the Netherlands to Aston Villa and made it to England’s top flight. During his marvelous football career, he became the champion in Belgium and performed many times in the Premier League. Currently, he also plays for EFL Championship club Luton Town in England and is a member of the Zimbabwe national team. 

Wilfred Mugeyi

Born on 4 July 1969 in Harare, Mugeyi is not just a Zimbabwean football legend (he retired from professional football in 2007), but also a very successful football coach and manager. In 1993 he joined the South African football club, Bush Bucks. He also played for Ajax Cape Town and several foreign football clubs, such as Maccabi Haifa (Israeli) and Shenyang Haishi (China). Mugeyi was the Footballer who won several top awards such as Player’s Player of the Year and the PSL Player of the Year.

 In 2007 Mugeyi decided to leave the professional sport and started working as an assistant coach for Ajax Cape Town. In 2013-2014 he was a manager of one of the oldest soccer clubs in South Africa, AmaZulu. Mugeyi is No 5 in the top ten of the PSL all-time goalscorers having scored 91 goals in his football career (1996-2007). No wonder Mugeyi remains one of the most notable Zimbabwean footballers in the history of football.
