South Africa-based veteran DJ and producer Oskido has congratulated world-famous DJ Black Coffee for successfully filling up the Madison Square Garden in New York, United States of America on 7 October.
“Nothing is impossible for you. I respect the way you treat every task and face every challenge. Congratulations,” posted Oskido on his Facebook timeline congratulating Black Coffee.
By performing at the historic 20 000 seater-Madison Square Garden which is home to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Black Coffee made history as he officially became the first South African DJ to perform at the esteemed venue.
The KwaZulu-Natal-born artiste was supported by the AmaPiano twin duo of Major League DJz with a number of special appearances from other artistes including Oskido, Msaki and Mondli Ngcobo, Podcast n Chill’s Mac G among others.
The show featured a 12-piece orchestra and a 360-degree stage setup.
It’s not a coincidence that the gig became a success as Black Coffee started planning it in March this year.
“It’s always been one of my biggest dreams to take this music and sound to the highest level possible and to expose it to the largest audience imaginable and so I’ve dreamt of my Madison Square Garden debut for many years — it’s finally a reality!” wrote Black Coffee on Instagram in March.
Back Coffee boasts of a 2016 BET Award and a Grammy win in the dance/electronic album category last year.
