Mukudzei Chirume, popularly known as MukuZim1 from Bulawayo, has become a sensation on social media platforms by imitating the late former President Robert Gabriel Mugabe.

From a tender age of 15, Mukudzei has managed to capture the attention of young people across the country, using his unique talent to instil pride in their nation and educate them about Zimbabwean history and current affairs.ย 

Mukuzim1 has been doing this for the past five years.

โ€œIโ€™m 20 years old now and I started doing this when I was only 15,โ€ Mukudzei said.

Mukudzeiโ€™s passion for his country and its rich history is evident in his performances. Through his skits and impersonations, he aims to bridge the generation gap and help young Zimbabweans understand their roots.ย 

His ability to mimic the late former President Mugabeโ€™s mannerisms and speech has made him an instant hit, with many praising his efforts to preserve the Zimbabwean narrative.

โ€œI believe that by imitating the late former President Mugabe, I am representing my country,โ€ Mukudzei explained.

โ€œWhen I travel to Europe or any other part of the world, people immediately recognise that I am from Zimbabwe. I donโ€™t have to explain anything; my imitation speaks for itself.โ€

Mukudzeiโ€™s dedication to his craft has not gone unnoticed. His skits have garnered thousands of views and shares on social media platforms, attracting a wide audience of both young and old Zimbabweans.ย 

Many viewers have expressed their gratitude for his efforts in making Zimbabwean history and current affairs more accessible and engaging.

โ€œWe are telling the Zimbabwean narrative in a way that everyone understands,โ€ said Sydney Muchemwa, Mukudzeiโ€™s manager, in an interview.

โ€œMukuZim1โ€™s performances have not only entertained but also educated countless individuals about our countryโ€™s past and present. He has become a voice for the youth, inspiring them to take pride in their heritage,โ€ said Muchemwa.

Mukudzeiโ€™s impact extends beyond social media. He has been invited to perform at various events and schools, where he continues to captivate audiences with his uncanny portrayal of late former President Mugabe.ย
