A man from Ndiweni Village in Kezi in Matabeleland South province was allegedly attacked by his neighbour with an iron rod on the head and several times all over the body being robbed of R7 450.
This was after Alison Zulu (32) was approached by his neighbour Aubrey Fuyana (60) who told him that there was someone was selling donkeys at Madwaleni Village.
According to the source Zulu even assured him that he would accompany him and would not need any payment for his kind gesture.
Being in need of donkeys Fuyana agreed and while on their way Zulu started to walk slowly behind him.
โFuyana maintained his walking pace as he did not suspect anything. When they had walked for about two kilometres, Zulu, who was carrying an iron rod, severely attacked Fuyana causing him to fall to the ground.
โHe then demanded money and Fuyana surrendered R7 450. After that he ran away,โ said the source.
Fuyana sustained injuries on his head and knees.
He reported the incident at Kezi Police Station under case number 35/ 02 /2023.
Later on, Zulu was spotted by a villager who requested anonymity boarding a bus to Bulawayo.
The villager informed police who then phoned Bulawayo Central Traffic who swiftly mounted a roadblock leading to his arrest.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident but could not comment as the matter was referred back to Kezi Police Station.
