ย A man who allegedly punched and kicked another man who owed him money before he stripped him naked and force-marched him to the shops where he allegedly instructed him to dance while naked has appeared in court.

ย Mitchel Shaba from Northend suburb appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Temba Chimiso facing charges of assault and kidnapping.

ย He was not asked to plead and was remanded out of custody to 16 October.

ย It is alleged that sometime in July this year Bothwell Chimbunde (51) borrowed US$50 from Shabaโ€™s wife.

ย It is said that Chimbunde fell sick and was then admitted to a hospital for a monthย  while receiving treatment and was discharged sometime inย  August this year.

ย Last month Chimbunde went to Shabaโ€™s home and paid US$20ย  beforeย  leaving for his home.ย

ย But that did not go down well with Shaba who followed him after a couple of minutes and accused him ofย  failing to pay him.

ย In a fit of anger he thrashed him with a belt and slapped him all over the body, the court heard.

ย After that he allegedly took his blanket, flash disc, health card and indemnity card.

ย As if that was not enough he allegedly grabbed him by his neck before he ordered him to strip naked and force-marched him to Northend shops where he allegedly ordered him to dance naked in full view of imbibers and shoppers.

ย After the humiliating act Chimbunde went and reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of Shaba.
