After producing a chilli sauce, which is currently making sales across the nation, the Lupane Veggie Guys were exhibiting their new beverages at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), which they said they prepared for the global market.
The Lupane Veggie Guys’ stand at the exhibition captivated many people when they saw beverages such as Ginger juice, Umnyi juice, Baobab juice, white and brown vinegar on display.
Co-founder of the company, Mgciniwethu Mazula, said the exhibition at ZITF attracted a lot of people and they are appreciating their products.
“So far, people are interested in what we have been showcasing, especially the chilli sauce, which was our first and most selling product. We have diversified and we have now brewed different drinks from wild fruits and many people who came to visit our stand are buying in on the idea and appreciate our craft.
“Our mandate is to use food that grows well under the Lupane environment; hence, we buy the traditional fruits from the community, assess them and add value to them through different food processes until they are finished products,” said Mazula.
This year’s ZITF edition is running under the theme Transformative Innovation, Global Competitiveness and Lupane veggies Guys seems to be on the right direction as they are planning to export their products to the global market.
“We are planning to export our chilli sauce, hence we have sent it out to the labs for analysis and safety.
We will start distribution to Asian countries, and then European countries. We have also asked ZimTrade to assist us in this process, “said Mazula.
