Khaya Arts tops Dance Awards nominees at the NAMAs

Music and Dance Ensemble Khaya Arts have been nominated for in three categories at the National Arts Merit Award (NAMA), under the Dance awards.
The nominees were revealed this afternoon and the awards are set to be held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on 25 February.

Khaya Arts are nominated for Outstanding Dance Group courtesy of their production Ngomdladla the Dunamis, alongside Salt and Light and Elysium Magna Dance Theatre.

Praise Dube, Khaya Arts dance queen, is nominated for Outstanding Female Dancer with the director of the Ensemble Future Dube nominated for Outstanding Dance Choreographer.

Umkhathi Theatre Worksโ€™ Bayethe Nkosi is also nominated three times at the Namas on the Theatre category for Outstanding Theatre Production, with Ishmael Muvingi and Matesu Dube nominated for Outstanding Theatre Actor and Director Respectively.

Victoria Falls based music sensation Andrea The Vocalist is nominated for Outstanding Newcomer courtesy of his smash hit Uhambo which made him become an internet sensation.

Urban Grooves maestro Ex Q is tipped to be bestowed with a lifetime achievement, to fully decorate his contribution in the local music scene for two decades.
