ZIMBABWE Cricket (ZC) will from Saturday welcome two English county cricket teams, Durham and Glamorgan, in Harare for a two-week tour by the visitors.
Durham and Glamorgan will play against local select sides across three formats which are three-day, Twenty20 and One day matches.

The pre-season tour will start off with Durham facing Southerns and Glamorgan taking on Northerns in three-day action scheduled for Saturday up to 6 March at Harare Sports Club and Old Hararians Sports Club respectively.

The three-day format will be followed by six T20 matches from 8 up to 10 March at Harare Sports Club, with two matches being played per day. Four 50-over games scheduled for 12 to 14 March will then wrap up the visitorsโ€™ tour.

โ€œWe are thrilled to be welcoming Durham and Glamorgan teams to our country for a very important tour that will go a long way in exposing especially our young and upcoming players to the stature of high-level cricket,โ€ he said.
Durham County Cricket Club which rebranded to Durham Cricket in February 2019 is one of 18 first class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales.

Founded in 1882, Durham held minor status for over a century and was a prominent member of the Minor Counties Championship, winning the competition seven times.
In 1992, the club joined the County Championship and the team was elevated to senior status as an official first-class team. Durham has been classified as an occasional List A team from 1964, then as a full List A team from 1992 and as a senior T20 team since the formatโ€™s introduction in 2003.

Glamorgan County Cricket Club is also one of 18 first-class county clubs that play in the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales.
Glamorgan is the only Welsh first-class cricket club. They have won the English County Championship competition in 1948, 1969 and 1997.

Glamorgan have also beaten international teams from all of the Test playing nations, including Australia whom they defeated in successive tours in 1964 and 1968.
Durham last visited Zimbabwe together with Derbyshire in March 2020, but that tour had to be cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic, while Glamorgan will be in the country for the first time since 1995.
