WHEN football and music get to mix!
Chicken Inn Football Club today donated 98 food packs to Bulawayo’s Mtshede Primary School pupils who were taking part in a musical contest.
The Gamecocks and Mtshede Primary School have recently been closely working together with the Simbisa Brands sponsored outfit backing the academic institution in their various sporting contests that include football and athletics.
โWe are very much grateful to this generous football side. We have been getting their support on a number of occasions and today we are happy that our young boys and girls who were representing us in the choral, traditional dance and percussion competitions also got the support that has previously given to our sports teams,โ said Thabani Gumbo who is a senior teacher at Mtshede Primary School.
The goodies were handed to Gumbo by Chicken Inn Football Club teamsโ manager Charles Dhliwayo.
Chicken Innโs Under-13, 15, 17 and Division Two sides use Mtshede Primary School grounds for their training sessions.
โItโs a win-win situation for us. We are in a very good partnership with Mtshede Primary School. We look forward to greatly assisting them as this is part of our corporate social responsibility programmes. We are also grateful to the parents who have given us such talented pupils who have been excelling academically and in extra curricular activities,โ said Chicken Inn board member development Makhanyiso Moyo.
In May Gamecocks made a kit donation to the Mtshede Under-13 football team. This was not the first time that Gamecocks had extended their long helping hand to the academic institution as they did the same with the athletics team in the first term. -@Fungai Muderere
