THE Office of the President and Cabinet is conducting its Strategic Plan Review Workshop in Kadoma.
The workshop which runs under the theme: “Transforming the Public Sector for Agility, Innovation and Modernisation towards Vision 2030”, commenced on Thursday and is expected to end on Sunday.
In his keynote address, Permanent Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya said the theme dovetails with the Government’s agenda of transforming and improving people’s lives.
He also encouraged staff from the OPC to make an impact on the citizens by guiding the public service sector and emulating President Mnangagwa’s astute leadership qualities.
The Chief Secretary also highlighted the importance of enhancing the digitalisation of the highest office.
“The OPC will also take a leaf from other nations including China and Belarus for Government entities to contribute significantly to the national Gross Domestic Product,” he said.
Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo encouraged attendees to reflect on progress made during the National Development Strategy (NDS-1) ahead of the NDS-2 scheduled to start from 2026 to 2030.
Senior government officials including the Executive Director for the Presidential and National Scholarships Department Raymore Machingura, Public Service Commission deputy chairperson Dr Nomathemba Ndiweni, Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Zvinechimwe Churu and Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor, Dr John Mushayavanhu are in attendance.
Other senior officials attending the meeting include Public Health Advisor to the President and Cabinet, Dr Agnes Mahomva and Mutapa Investment Fund chief executive officer, Dr John Mangudya, and Secretaries of Ministers of States for Provincial Affairs and Devolution.
Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion permanent secretary George Guvamatanga is also expected to attend the workshop.
