Miss World Zimbabwe on this weekend

Harare Bureau
The countdown to Miss World Zimbabwe 2024 has begun, and all eyes are on the 11 stunning finalists vying for the coveted title. Beauty, intelligence, and community spirit will take centre stage in a spectacular celebration of Zimbabwean womanhood tomorrow. As the contestants prepare to compete, it remains to be seen who will be crowned this yearโ€™s queen.

The highly-anticipated pageant, set to take place at Siyekhaya Estate in Borrowdale, Harare, promises to be a breath-taking event, showcasing grace, elegance, and the true essence of Zimbabwean women.
The finalists are Samantha Manhenga, Charlotte Muziri, Chipo Ben, Courtney Jongwe, Yolanda Chimbarami, Pauline Marere, Life Matunzeni, Tinashe Dahwa, Nozinhle Gumede, Lindsay Nyabereka, and Ruvimbo Musengi. Each contestant was carefully selected from across the country, bringing together a diverse group of women representing the best of Zimbabwe.

International media personality and Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Kim Jayde, will host the event, bringing her expertise and charisma to the celebration. Jaydeโ€™s presence is expected to elevate the glamour and excitement of the night.
This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œBeauty with a Purposeโ€, underscores the pageantโ€™s mission to empower women who not only embody beauty but also make significant contributions to their communities. The contestants have been actively involved in causes such as education, healthcare, environmental conservation, and womenโ€™s empowerment.

Miss World Zimbabwe licence holder and director, Patience Lusengo, said the pageant is about more than just physical beauty.
โ€œWe are not just looking for a pretty face,โ€ Lusengo explained.
โ€œWe want a woman who can inspire others and make a tangible difference in the lives of those around her.โ€

The winner of Miss World Zimbabwe will also earn the prestigious opportunity to represent the country at the Miss World International competition, while the first runner-up will go on to represent Zimbabwe at Miss International. Additional prizes and sponsorships will be awarded during the event, furthering the mission of showcasing Zimbabwean talent on the global stage.

Last yearโ€™s Miss World Zimbabwe, Nokutenda Murambwa, made Zimbabwe proud by winning the 71st Miss World Head-to-Head Challenge, setting a high standard for this yearโ€™s contestants. As they prepare to take the stage, the finalists are eager to follow in Murambwaโ€™s footsteps and leave their mark on the global beauty scene.
