GREENFUEL are likely going to end the season with a tale to tell as they are on the cusp of completing the season without losing a match at their fortress in Chisumbanje.
It is a rare feat which they had shared with Simba Bhora who finally lost their grip when they stumbled to a 2-0 loss at the hands of FC Platinum on Saturday.
This leaves GreenFuel as the only side that could finish the campaign unharmed at their fortress.
It will inject more life into their party as they will also be celebrating maintaining their Castle Lager Premiership slot for the second season on the bounce. With just a game to play before the season ends, GreenFuel are four points off the red zone.
They are hosting Dynamos on their final fixture of the season.
Adrian Silla who was rejected by Highlanders and CAPS United, has been at the forefront of GreenFuelโs battles in this campaign.
He left Bosso and Makepekepe where he was deemed a black sheep.
And, many never gave him a chance when he joined GreenFuel at the start of this campaign when he was bailed out by Rodwell Dhlakama.
The defensive midfielder has not made headlines for the wrong reasons this season something which implies that Dhlakama succeeded in whipping him into line.
Silla has been the teamโs stand-out player in their midfield unit.
The 28-year-old remained dedicated even when Dhlakama left the club to join Hwange just towards the mid-season break.
Donald Ngoma is another player who has taken matters into his hands scoring six times and flexing his experience at the club.
Tashinga Pfende was the man at the heart of GreenFuelโs defence.
The Legends Academy graduate played a key role in ensuring that the club dodges relegation waters.
This decent milestone which the club have is 90 minutes away from achieving has got the club chairman, Fredson Moyo, believing that it is within reach.
โWe are quite relieved and excited that the team has achieved its primary objective which is to avoid relegation.
โIt has been a tough season but the boys punched above their weight for us to achieve our goal and it is always good to play your last game of the season without the pressure of winning it.
โThe boys know the significance of ending the season without losing at home better than anyone, they know what it means to the fans and I believe it is something we can achieve if we can keep our eyes on the ball,โ said Moyo.
