Magwegwe Old bred award-winning muso Fab G Mshana Kagogo, who released many AmaPiano and Dancehall singles last year, has decided to go back to his Mthobanhliziyo Tribe roots as he will be releasing a four-track Extended Play (EP) on February 11.

Mthobanhliziyo Tribe is Fab G’s own genre which he crafted in 2019. It is a combination of African sound, mostly Ndebele traditional elements and world music.

On the EP, he introduced new talent under his stable in the names of Sihle Ncube also known as Noyanda and Nandipha “Nandi” Ndlovu, who featured on the project produced by Cliff Jeans, Bouylee as well as Sparks.

Songs on the project are Ngaphakathi, Umbuzo , iDistance and Sweety Lavo.

“This EP is not about Fab G as a solo act but instead I am bringing in my new members of the Mthobanhliziyo Tribe which I call

‘The Khuza Culture’ movement. I worked with the new signings Nandi and Noyanda.

“Since February is the month of love, we decided to bless all lovers with this project as a mega present for them.

“On the visuals for the first song Ngaphakathi we worked with Brooklyn Films International and we promise our fans that they will enjoy the new kind of content we are dishing out,” said Fab G.

Last year, Fab G surprised many as he switched from his own sound and did numerous AmaPiano features, with major one being a feature on South Africa’s Podcast n Chill co-host Sol Phenduka and Murumba Pitch song titled iJager (Asphuzeni).

He said no matter how much the pressure of AmaPiano might be, he will always identify himself as someone who does Mthobanhliziyo.

“I introduced myself through this genre and I will continue to honour it by doing songs of my identity. With this EP, I returned to Mthobanhliziyo Tribal.

“I come a long way with my identity and movement and I thank God that He helped me to take the first step and now we are crawling, soon we are going to be learning how to walk and most definitely we will fly.

“Hopefully, one day this movement will become big and define the city of Bulawayo’s musical sound and identity,” he said.

Fab G said he has got several pending big collaborations in and outside the country.

He said more is yet to come as he is also working on his solo album.
