JoyRukanza set to perform at Canada Music Week

United Kingdom-based multi-award-winning new-age musician JoyRukanza’s comet continues to rise — leaving footprints on the international music scene, as she has been named among world-famous artistes who will perform at this year’s Canada Music Week.

Canada Music Week is the nation’s premier annual event dedicated to the entertainment industry, aimed at championing Canadian music, supporting local talent and cultivating a deeper appreciation for contemporary music among young Canadians.

The festival is set to be held at the Westin Harbour in Toronto from 1 to 8 June.

JoyRukanza will perform with over 50 international acts including Jessie Alexander, Amanda Frances, Brett Mathews, Kingo Halla, Mellisa Kadas, Yassin and Sean Terrio, Harley Olivia, Voodoo Shakedown, Jack and The Kid, among others.

The Queendom hitmaker is happy to be part of the stellar artistes who will perform at the four-day festival.

“I’m incredibly proud and thrilled to be selected to perform at Canada Music Week in Toronto in June. As an independent Zimbabwean artiste, it’s a dream come true to connect with my fans, collaborate with industry greats and share the stage with fellow artistes,” said JoyRukanza.

Apart from the Canada Music Week, JoyRukanza has performed on numerous international stages.

In 2022, she performed at the Maida Vale Studios, after receiving an invite  from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

Maida Vale Studios is a multifaceted venue of seven BBC sound studios in Delaware Road, Maida Vale, West London.

It has been used to record thousands of classical music, popular music and drama sessions for BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 6 Music from 1946 to the present.

Maida Vale has recorded artistes for BBC radio for nearly a century including the Beatles, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Bing Crosby, Nirvana, the John Peel sessions and countless other famous artistes.

JoyRukanza joined elite artistes from the 21st century including Beyonce, Rihanna, John Legend, Sam Smith and the late Amy Winehouse, to mention a few, who have performed at the historical Maida Vale Studios.
