FC Platinum lose four key players

FC PLATINUM media liaison officer, Chido Chizondo, has confirmed that the club has released four seasoned players: Lawrence Mhlanga, Rainsome Pavari Donald Teguru and Panashe Mutimbanyoka.

Chizondo said Mhlanga and Pavari are now in the books of Manica Diamonds while the duo of Teguru and Mutimbanyoka joined Mabvuku based moneybags, Scottland FC.

โ€œLawrenceโ€™s (Mhlanga) contract with us expired at the end of last year and he decided not to renew it. As a result, he went to join Manica Diamonds where he was joined by Rainsome Pavari. Panashe (Mutimbanyoka) and Donald Teguru are now with Scottland FC,โ€ said Chizondo.

Despite losing the gifted quartet, FC Platinum have managed to retain the services of their dependable goalkeeper Wallace Magalane, Shepherd Mhlanga, Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya and ex-Highlanders defender Mbongeni โ€œMbolaโ€ Ndlovu, among others.

Former Dynamos and Greenfuel forward Claivert Tshuma, has been spotted training with the platinum miners.
Tshuma was seen participating in gym sessions while wearing the jersey of the Zvishavane based former champions.

This has sparked speculation of Tshumaโ€™s potential move to the Norman Mapeza mentored side. Undoubtedly, Tshuma is seeking to remain in the top flight following Hwangeโ€™s relegation this past season.

The skilful forward was in the books of Chipangano who got demoted from the countryโ€™s elite football league alongside Arenel Movers, Bulawayo Chiefs and Chegutu Pirates in the past season.

their pre-season workouts, ahead of the start of the 2025 season, Pure Platinum Play have set up base in Bulawayo since Monday last week and they will be in the City of Kings and Queens for three weeks.

The platinum miners were champions in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021-2022 and have played Caf Champions League football.
