DENDERA music king Sulumani Chimbetu will open his year’s live shows diary with a performance in Mutoko next week.
The musician, who is polishing his studio album due to be released this year, will perform alongside Boss Pumacol, T Makwikwi and Dumi Matombo.
Sulu, who has a rich catalogue that includes ‘Sean Timba’, ‘Nhambarakishoni’, ‘Phone Yangu’, and ‘Alice Mbewe,’ is expected to invade Mutoko on February 1 and will play at Jiddim Night Club.
It will be his first performance of the year.
“We will in Mutoko, kutangidza gore. Let’s meet there, we want to see mwana wese ikoko, kutangidza gore in style,” said Sulu.
The owner of Jiddim Night Club, Jivas Mudimu, who is also a lawyer, said they were ready for their first massive show of the year.
“We are ready for our first massive gig of the year and we have also roped in our local artists to parade their talents on the same day.
“By launching Jiddim Night Club in Rukanda we were simply responding to people’s calls to have a venue like this one.
“People are just happy to have a conversation with their favourite musicians,” said Mudimu.
The venue was launched late last year.
It has hosted the likes of Andy Muridzo, Kinnah, Guspy Warrior, Shinsoman, Kadhijah, Gina Marina, Mostaff, Boom Beto, Ras Caleb, Chrystal Rich, Khonangale and Kabhidha.
