Lower Sixth classes to start on Monday

This year’s Lower Sixth classes will start on Monday, January 27, as Government moves in to maximise available learning time following the release of the 2024 Zimsec Ordinary Level results last week.
In the past, Lower Sixth students would be afforded more time between the release of their ‘O’ Level results and class resumption.
However, early resumption of classes will maximise face-to-face learning and keep the learners away from societal ills such as drug abuse.
Government also said tuition and boarding fees will be paid on a pro-rata basis, which will see the incoming learners pay less than their counterparts who started classes mid January.
“The commencement date for the 2025 Lower Sixth classes is Monday, the 27th of January 2025,” said Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Mr Moses Mhike.
“Please ensure that all heads of schools, teachers, parents and the pupils are advised of this date,” said Mr Mhike.
“The fees payable by the Lower Sixth pupils will be on a pro-rata basis to the approved Term One fees for each school.”
