ZIMBABWEAN born Maskandi music outfit, Abafana BakaMzilikazi founder Keith “Doit” Nkomo is harnessing his acting skills after landing cameo roles on well established South African soapies among them Isiphetho-Destiny and Smoke and Mirrors.
The artiste who hails from Tsholotsho in Matabeleland North province started his acting journey in 2022 and is slowly becoming a household name and hopes to cast for permanent roles in the future.
Doit said he has joined a number of casting agencies with a bid to grow his acting career.
“I started professional acting in 2022 on the film called Inotho Ye Gazi and since then l have been landing some roles here and there with the mission of growing my brand also as an actor.
“My most prominent sets so far have been on South African soapies namely Isiphetho where my character is called Mover boy and on Smoke and Mirrors where my name is Cultural man. I managed to have two sets on each of the soapies and I appeared on Isiphetho-Destiny last Friday and will appear on Smoke and Mirrors on Cultural Day on May 25,” said Doit.
He said he has landed roles on other platforms, which are internationally recognised and hopes to get more gigs in the coming future.
“Recently, I got a role in a Mpondoland film, which is also set to premiere soon on either Netflix and Showmax. This is a milestone achievement for me.
“With these cameo roles, l am working so hard to ensure l land a permanent role. Each day is a day for me to grow my acting skills. Musically, l am still on and people should expect new projects in the coming months,” said Doit.
Musically, Doit is better known for two singles: Uyamangaza off Splash Beat and a Maskandi track titled Nkosisikeleli Africa.
