Scotts Maphuma set for Cosmopolitan

Forget about January disease, people are still having fun!

South Africa’s most trending and overbooked AmaPiano star Scotts Maphuma is set to make his maiden appearance in Zimbabwe as the lanky muso will be in Bulawayo for a show at Cosmopolitan VIP Lounge on 18 January.

The artiste, famous for the Bathini Bona signature chant, was supposed to headline the show in December. However, due to his tight schedule, the much anticipated gig was then shifted to January.

Despite the norm of the first month of the year — where many revellers could be hit by January disease (low budget), the eGoli hitmaker has proven to be a force to reckon with — one that spectators want to see live on stage, as advanced general tickets for the show are already sold out.

Mduduzi Mdlongwa of 3D Events who are the organisers of the show, said they are grateful for the love and support that the people from Bulawayo have shown towards the hyped show.

He said Maphuma was the man of the moment and they couldn’t resist not bringing him to the city of Kings at his prime while he was still a hot property.

“Cosmopolitan is one of the finest clubs in the city which promotes a vibrant lifestyle to its revellers, As such, there was a need for us to bring an artiste who will complement the VIP club and that is Scotts Maphuma.

“Despite the event happening in January, people have shown us love  and appreciation as we have managed  to sell out the first batch of ordinary tickets, a sign that people love Scotts so much.

“At the show, we will have specials on different kinds of beverages so as to accommodate our loyal customers. We promise a splendid and organised show as we encourage people to come in numbers to dance and sing with their favourite AmaPiano star,” said Mdlongwa.

Sky who is the marketing consultant for Cosmopolitan said they are coming up with a new strategy of revamping the night club with providing quality entertainment to the revellers being the focal point.

“We have a new strategy this year that is centred on providing quality entertainment to our patrons as they come first to us.

“As we start with this hyped event as we host Scotts, we will go on to bring top notch performers from South Africa and other places during the course of the year,” said Sky.

Maphuma will share the stage with Cosmopolitan residential DJs, with other artistes who will perform at the gig set to be announced soon.
