Gibson Mhaka

IN a shockingly strange incident a 42-year-old man from Kwite West Village under Chief Tshitshi in Mangwe, Matabeleland South province was arrested after he groped his aunt’s privates while demanding to have sex  with  her.

Gibson Sibanda brewed a shocker when he demanded that his 40-year-old aunt, whose name is being withheld for legal reasons ,should sleep with him.

This was heard when the sex pest Sibanda appeared before Plumtree resident magistrate Shumirai Mutimodhlo charged with indecent assault as defined in Section 67 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Codification) Act Chapter 9:23.

He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to pay a fine of US$100 and in default of payment will be jailed for two months.

In addition, four months imprisonment was suspended for five years on condition that he does not commit an offence of a sexual nature of which he will be sentenced to imprisonment without the option of a fine.

The court heard that on 7 October at around 8.45pm Sibanda arrived at his aunt’s homestead and found her having supper with her daughter.

After he was welcomed, he asked for food. His aunt then assigned her daughter to prepare food for him.

While his aunt’s daughter was busy preparing food for him, Sibanda then stood up and got closer to her.

He hugged her with his left hand while he shoved his right hand in between her thighs and repeatedly squeezed her privates.

While repeatedly squeezing her privates, the court heard that he said he didn’t want food but he wanted to have sexual intercourse with her.

His aunt screamed and pushed Sibanda away before she called her other relative who resides at a nearby homestead.

When the relative in question came he met Sibanda outside the gate.

The aunt was advised to report the matter to the police leading to Sibanda’s arrest.
