THREE male pupils from Mzilikazi High School in Bulawayo were arrested for allegedly assaulting a fellow pupil before stabbing him with a pair of scissors as punishment for refusing with his cloth to wipe off dust from their shoes.
The Form Two pupils whose names are being withheld since they are minors appeared before Bulawayo regional magistrate Collet Ncube charged with attempted murder.
They were not asked to plead and the matter was postponed to 24 October. They were released into the custody of their parents.
The court heard that on 28 September during break time while the alleged 16-year-old victim was near the school toilets wiping dust from his shoes one of the suspects snatched his piece of cloth.
When he demanded his piece of cloth one of the boys manhandled him before punching and kicking him all over the body, the court heard.
Things turned horribly bad for him when one of the accused persons reached for a stone and hit him on the head injuring him.
One of the boys allegedly took out a pair of scissors from their satchel before stabbing the victim on the ribs.ย
He fell to the ground and screamed for help.
The victim was rushed to hospital for treatment.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of the three boys.
